General Information:
My wife and I have been “living the dream” aboard and sailing Shared Dreams for 20000 Miles since we purchased her in 2001. Our current port of call is the Rio Dulce in Guatemala. The Rio Dulce is a protected river with a nice selection marinas and facilities for cruisers. We have great access to the world’s third largest barrier reef in the waters of Belize and the beautiful Bay Islands of Honduras. When we're not out sailing, the boat is moored at Tijax Marina.

Maintenance Record:
As you can see from the equipment list below, we have upgraded all of the critical systems and continue to maintain the boat in cruise-ready condition. Her topsides and the Mast’s were painted recently. The boat was hauled out at Rio Dulce Boatyard Oct. 2012. During this last haul-out new anti-fouling paint was applied to the bottom, the Prop was serviced and new zincs installed. All 7 seacocks were replaced.
The diesel engine is in perfect working condition. It starts easily and has run flawlessly since we owned it. The engine is clean and is easy to access and maintain. The engine oil and oil filter have been changed every 100 hours throughout its’ service life and all belts and hoses were changed in 2010.
Last year my wife replaced all cockpit covers with new Sunbrella.
The Fabric for the cabin cushions were replaced in 2011. All of the standing rigging and lifelines were replaced in 2004.
While we have been cruising on Shared Dreams, over the past six years, we have upgraded virtually all of the systems on the boat including the diesel engine, life lines, solar panels, wind generator, batteries (2006), battery charger, inverter, refrigerator, stove, SSB radio, deck wash-down pump, anchor windless, anchor chain and rode, depth gauge, auto-helm, Mizzen sail, cabin lights and fans.
Layout:
Shared Dreams features a private aft cabin accessed via the companionway with a large double bunk and private head. The large Nav.-Station is on your Stb side facing forward. The U-shaped galley is located port of the companion way. This arrangement works well underway. The galley is arranged midships to Port with the sink on centerline and a 3 burner gimbaled stove with oven. Opposite the Double sink is the Refrigerator (new in 2010) and a cold storage next to it. Forward of the galley is the settees, one of which converts to a double berth and a foldable salon table. Ample cabin ventilation is provided with 2 ceiling hatches and 8 opening ports. Forward of the Salon is another head (Port side) with private door to the V-berth. There are plenty Wet and Dry Lockers to store all your Equipment.
The boat has a large, fully-enclosed cockpit that comfortably seats six people. All lines on deck run aft to the cockpit enabling the sails to be reefed without going on deck and making it easy to single-hand. The deck area forward of the mast is spacious enough to store the dinghy, inverted and fully-inflated, in front of the mast. A foldable SS ladder has been added to the stern of the boat. The mizzen Boom works well to hoist your Outboard engine.
